Parental Involvement
We believe that parents/guardians are the first and most important people in their children's development and wish to work with you to achieve your child's full potential. We welcome you to talk to the staff about your child's progress or any worries you may have.
Individual personal pathways are made about each child to help us chart their progress. You are welcome to see your child's personal pathway at any time. These are confidential and not available for any other parents to see.
If you or any family members have any talents that you would be happy to share with the children, please do talk to a member of staff.
We ask parents/guardians to respect that for your child's safety the pre-school is both a non-smoking and non-mobile phone area.
Committee - As previously mentioned, the pre-school is run by an elected committee of parents/guardians who become trustees. The committee is responsible for setting and reviewing both the policies and the practice of the pre-school, for the employment of the staff and monitoring finances. Our annual general meeting is held in September and the committee is elected for a year at a time. All parents/guardians are welcome to attend this meeting and put themselves forward for election to serve on the committee, as without a committee the pre-school cannot run.
We are always looking for new ways to fundraise to help offset the running costs of the pre-school and to provide new equipment and opportunities for the children. Any help from parents/guardians is always welcome.
Complaints - We endeavour to deal with all complaints very courteously and promptly. We believe most complaints are made constructively and can be addressed at an early stage. In the first instance please talk to the pre-school manager. If you are still not satisfied with the outcome then contact the chair of the pre-school committee. Should the matter still not be resolved satisfactorily then there is a national OFSTED parent's complaints number: 0300 123 1231
